Reading in KS2

Year Three and Four

Children have 2 reading lessons each week which focus on developing comprehension skills 

Children who still need to learn some phonic sounds have catch up sessions each day with a Teaching Assistant 

Children reading banded books read weekly with an adult 

Children choose a book from the class or school library to read in class

Year Three and Four read daily, either in class story time or as part of an English lesson

Year Five and Six
