Our Brooklands Curriculum

> Our Brooklands Curriculum

Whilst our curriculum is based on the statutory EYFS framework and the National Curriculum (2014), it is also bespoke to our school, with themes and topics specifically selected to further develop our pupils’ high starting points and cultural capital. It is a fluid document that is constantly under review to move ensure our offer keeps pace with an ever-changing world. In addition to the strong emphasis on core skills and core subjects, we value all subjects equally as part of a broad and balanced diet that allows all pupils to find their niche and to excel. It focuses both on knowledge and skills, understanding that learners cannot obtain one without the other. It is inclusive and representative of our diverse community.

The school is determined to ensure it continues to develop well-rounded, articulate, confident and high–achieving children. Our curriculum design develops and strengthens the generally high starting points that our children have when they enter our school. The curriculum provides clear opportunities to develop the children’s knowledge and ensures that they apply this to deepen their understanding. Crucially, it will also provide them with the essential foundations for the next part of their educational journey and beyond.

We are proud of ‘Our Brooklands Curriculum’ and this page offers a comprehensive summary of our curriculum offer.
