Sleep is essential for the well-being of both children and adults. At Brooklands, we recognise the importance of quality sleep in promoting healthy development and academic success. That’s why we’re committed to supporting our students’ sleep habits and encouraging parents to prioritise sleep for their children.
Establishing a consistent sleep routine can make a big difference. Encourage your child to go to bed at the same time each night and wake up at the same time each morning. Creating a sleep-friendly environment, with a comfortable bed, calming bedtime routine, and a quiet, dark room, can help promote better sleep.
It’s also important to limit screen time before bed. The blue light emitted by electronic devices can disrupt sleep patterns. Encourage your child to unwind with a book or engage in relaxation techniques instead.
Quality sleep has numerous benefits. It enhances concentration, mood, and overall well-being. It also supports cognitive development, memory consolidation, and physical growth.
