Remote Learning

> Remote Learning

Remote learning will only be used when pupils cannot attend school in person due to exceptional circumstances, such as a period of isolation following public health guidance or a partial/full school closure. It is not intended for short-term, everyday illness. Our aim is to ensure continuity of education and safeguarding while supporting families with access to learning resources.

Remote Learning Details

  • If absence is 3 days or less:
Learning will be fully online via Google Classroom. Any further instructions or updates will be sent to parents via the school app.
  • If remote learning extends beyond 3 days:
  • We will provide two live lessons daily and one recorded lesson for pupils to follow.
  • Live lessons will take place on a secure video platform, and links will be shared daily via Google Classroom.
  • Safeguarding & Safe ICT Use:
All remote learning follows our safeguarding policy and Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. Pupils and parents will receive advice on safe online practices, and staff will use secure platforms for all live sessions.
  • Access & Support:
A small selection of devices will be available for loan, and printed learning packs can be collected from the school office if needed.
  • Attendance & Engagement:
Teachers will take registers morning and afternoon as normal. Attendance at live sessions is compulsory.
  • Follow-up calls will be made for pupils who are not engaging with remote learning.
  • Communication:
Parents can still contact the school via office@brooklands.trafford.sch.uk for any queries or support.
